Privacy policy

SchoolPayGH ("we") is a school fees service operated by Synergy in Accra, Ghana. This policy explains what we collect in the SchoolPayGH app and website, why, and your choices.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address and phone number.
  • School records: student names, admission numbers, classes, parent or guardian contacts, fees, invoices, payments and receipts, entered by the school.
  • Payment details: amount, network, the last four digits of the Mobile Money number and the Paystack reference. We never see or store your Mobile Money PIN.
  • Security records: sign-in times and the device type, and an audit log of changes staff make.

Why we use it

  • To let schools bill students and record fees.
  • To let parents see their own children's fees, pay and keep receipts.
  • To send receipts, new bills and reminders by in-app notice and SMS.
  • To prevent fraud and keep an accurate record of money received.

Who we share it with

  • Your school, which controls its own student and fee records.
  • Paystack, to process Mobile Money payments and pay schools.
  • Arkesel, to deliver SMS messages.
  • Supabase, which securely hosts our database.

We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Who can see what

A parent only sees children the school has confirmed they are linked to. School staff only see their own school, and only what their role allows. The public receipt check shows only the school name, amount, receipt number, date and the student's initials.

How long we keep it

Payment and receipt records are kept for as long as the school needs them for its accounts and legal obligations. When you delete your account, we remove your personal profile; payment records the school is required to keep remain with the school.

Your choices

  • Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it.
  • Ask us to delete your account. See Delete account.
  • Ask your school to stop SMS messages to your number.

Children

The app is for parents, guardians and school staff. Student records are created by schools, not by children.
